La Colonia Golf Resort is a new Puerto Plata real estate development. The La Colonia Golf Resort is only five miles from the international airport at Puerto Plata and thirty minutes from the famous beach town of Cabarete.

If the Puerto Plata area of the north coast interests you than this is a development you must see. It is a world-class leisure resort complex that will consist of 1,000 luxury golf course villas, 200 apartments and protected swimming beach.

Once this project is completed, La Colonia will offer a world class hotel/leisure complex and great amenities. I don’t have access to the latest price list but in the middle of 2009 the projected sale prices were between (U.S.) $450,000 and $750,000.

Luxury 2-bed or 3-bed villas with fantastic mountain views can be purchased for somewhere in the mid $300,000’s. The first phase was completed in 2009!

La Colonia will have a lot to do within the gated community including golf, tennis, shopping, horseback riding, beach club, spa and swimming. During the construction of future phases the La Colonia Golf Resort is planning a boutique golf/short-stay hotel, restaurants, spa shops, tour desk.

The Dominican schools are an important consideration for anyone considering a move to Cabarete when there are children involved. The International school is a first rate educational facility and in fact families move to Sosua/Cabarete from all parts of the world just to enroll their child at the International school. As a real estate investor, having a highly ranked private school in the community is a huge plus for our Cabarete real estate investment.

International School of Sosua
Private college preparatory school with certified teachers. Offering a U.S. curriculum taught in English. Pre-K through Grade 12, diploma programs from both the US and Dominican Republic. www.issosua.com

Garden Kids School
The Garden Kids School is a Local Authority Primary (5-11) co-educational day school. The number of children enrolled ranges from 120-150. The school follows the Local Education Authority Admissions Policy. www.garden-kids.org

Holiday Spanish School
Take an intensive Spanish course during your stay. The school is located in the heart of Sosua. The Holiday Spanish School offers Spanish language courses for students of all ages and levels. Each class lasts a minimum of two hours. Group classes are generally held in the mornings from 9 to 11 and 11 to 1, but they are more than happy to accommodate special requests.

La Boca Cabarete Beach

La Boca is the most secluded beach area on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. It’s only minutes away fron the village of Cabarete but the drive consists of rough dirt roads and trails for several miles and once you get there don’t expect to see any tourists.

La Boca has a restaurant with a menu of outstanding fresh fish dishes. The miles of natural and unspoiled beaches makes it worth the trip. The La Boca Grille is the lunch stop for the Outback tour!

La Boca is where the river and the ocean meet! The river is both fresh and salt water! The beach at La Boca is natural and unspoiled! It won’t be long before La Boca becomes another piece of Cabarete real estate with a new beach-side development.
